Majestic Magpies is a registered charity dedicated to transforming the lives of children
residing in Danida and Soweto, two slum settlements nestled in the heart of Jinja, Uganda. Our primary focus lies in supporting underserved children within these communities by facilitating unfettered access to education and ensuring safe transportation, essential for their growth and development.
Driven by a commitment to create impactful change, we generate income through the sale of lottery tickets and scrap metal collection. These proceeds are diligently reinvested directly into initiatives aimed at providing essential educational resources to school-aged children in Danida and Soweto. By synergizing the power of education with safe transportation, we strive to dismantle barriers and pave the way for boundless opportunities, enabling these children to thrive against the odds.

Our Story
Majestic Magpies was founded in 2023 by our founder, Peter Eddington, after a transformative journey embarked upon during a visit to Uganda. Witnessing the tenacity and perseverance of children attending schools in rural Uganda profoundly impacted Peter. This was a revelation that birthed an unwavering commitment to transform lives, particularly those dwelling in the slum settlements of Danida and Soweto in Jinja, Uganda. Throughout his immersive experience, Peter encountered the stark realities of educational deprivation widespread among these resilient communities. The high numbers of out-ofschool children revealed the colossal challenges obstructing access to education, compelling Peter to respond.
Driven by a fervent desire to dismantle barriers hindering educational access, Majestic Magpies set its sights on a crucial mission—making quality education an attainable reality for every child. We understand the vital role education plays in ending poverty and shaping better futures.
Majestic Magpies was born not merely to provide bicycles but to transform the trajectories of these young lives. The emphasis evolved beyond transportation; it became a fervent endeavor to empower deserving young minds with safe, quality education—a beacon of hope amidst adversity.
Our programs are meticulously designed to address the needs of both children in school and disadvantaged children in slum settlements who are currently out of school. We prioritize education and strive to ensure that every child has the opportunity to access the quality education they deserve through our initiatives.
